According to reports, the 65-year-old Father of Zakes Bantwini passed unexpectedly on January 4 in the evening at his homestead in eNkandla, KwaZulu-Natal.

We will miss his sense of humor, his grit, and the way he consistently insisted that we adhere to our culture. He was friendly and loving, and we will miss him greatly.

Zakes announced the information by uploading a white dove to Instagram.

Nandi Madida, Zakes’ wife, posted a message in the comments area to comfort her husband and congratulate him on being a good son to his deceased Father while he was still alive.

Nandi honored her “Father in love” in a post on her personal Instagram page.

“I will always appreciate the kindness you extended to me as your daughter-in-law. I did feel like your infatuated daughter, thanks to you. We will miss your wicked sense of humor terribly. I appreciate how you treated me like family and warmly welcomed me.

“Your creator is with you. Once more, many thanks. I will always be grateful. During this extremely trying time, my husband, Zakes Bantwini, family, and all of your loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers.
